Saturday, September 6 - North Yarmouth Fun Day
Here's the tentative schedule for Fun Day 2014! This year, we've got new games, Bungee jumpers and bigger inflatables than ever. We're also bringing back some old favorites, like the pancake breakfast and the cribbage tournament. North Yarmouth Fire Rescue will challenge all comers in the Firefighters' Muster and then they'll serve you a great bean supper!
7:30 - 9:30 Pancake Breakfast - North Yarmouth Fire Station.
Start Fun Day the right way! The North Yarmouth Congregational Church Men's Group will be serving breakfast fare and at just $6 ($4 for kids under 12), it's also a great deal!
8:00 Skyline 5K - Skyline Farm
As part of Fun Day, please join us for Skyline Farm's inaugural 5k Trail Run/Walk. The race which starts at 8:00 a.m. will start and finish at Skyline Farm. The course will consist of 2 loops through Skyline's woods trails and fields. Please sign up for race at www.running4free.com ($15.00) or sign up on race day from 6:30-7:30 a.m. ($20.00). Walk/bike/ride and represent your business, your neighborhood or just yourSELF in the Fun Day Parade! It's a short route from Fat Andy's Hardwood on 9/115 to the Village Green so it's perfect for the little ones. Contact Jess Dyer at 829-8328 if you would like to participate.
9:45 Opening Ceremony - Village Green
Gather 'round the bandstand as the American Legion Post 91 presents the colors and we honor our 2014 Distinguished Citizen of the Year: Katie Murphy!
10:00 Games/Food/Vendors/Bungee Jumpers/Bounce Houses open
This year we've got inflatable obstacle courses, bigger bounce houses, a bungee jumper AND new games for the kids! Food will be served by local non-profits like: The North Yarmouth Fire Company, the North Yarmouth Historical Society, Boy Scouts Troop 58, Walnut Hill Garden Club and Cumberland Youth Lacrosse. There'll also be sausage sandwiches, kettle corn and Italian ice!
10:30 Diaper Derby - Village Green
Rose Garden Preschool will once again host the diaper derby, which is a Fun Day tradition! Please note: wagering on babies is strictly prohibited! Please register at the Information Booth by 10:15. Downloadable form available here!
10:30 Cribbage Tournament - Fire Station
Another Fun Day tradition returns! Registration forms available at the Information Booth the day of the event or print, complete and bring this registration form to the Information Booth before 10:30 on Fun Day. First-, second-, and third-place trophies!
11:00 The Great Stephan - Village Green
The Great Stephan is one of Maine's premier magicians and has performed all over New England for thousands! Prepare to be amazed!
12:00 Horseshoe Tournament - Behind Band Stand
Hosted by local legend Rob Wood! Get a partner and register your two-person team at the Information Booth the day of the event. First-, second-, and third-place trophies! Print, complete and bring this registration form to the Information Booth before noon on Fun Day.
12:00 Lunch break Yoga - Village Green
Darcy Cunningham from Turning Light Center will lead us in some therapeutic and fun movement. No experience necessary. All ages welcome!
12:30 Party Palooga Balloon Show - Village Green
Back by popular demand! This isn't some third-rate balloon animal show - this is balloon art!
1:30 Comedian Colby Bradshaw - Village Green
Colby Bradshaw started his show business career as a yo-yo artist before pursuing comedy. A recent graduate of the American Comedy Institute in NYC, this Maine native that will surely get you laughing with his down-home comedic stylings!
2:00 Firefighters' Muster - Route 115 next to the Village Green
The North Yarmouth Muster team pulled off a major upset and was victorious at the Yarmouth Clam Festival. The Yarmouth squad, reeling from their home court loss, has demanded a rematch. Was North Yarmouth's last performance a fluke or are they the real deal? Come to Fun Day and see for yourself!

Kids, hoses, buckets, water... hey - it's Fun Day! It's ok to eat your beans in soggy clothes!
5:00 Bean Supper - Fire Station
A real Maine tradition and nobody does it better than the North Yarmouth Fire Company! Four kinds of beans, coleslaw, rolls, hot dogs and dessert - all for a great price! This is one of their biggest fund-raisers of the year, so please come out and support the folks that work and train so hard to keep you safe!
